Katy likes combining words with pictures. Her first short film, floating is easy, was produced by the award-winning Alcoba Films in 2008. It has screened in festivals in Palm Springs, London, Strasbourg, Huesca, Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Alison has devoted the last three years of her life to caring for her mother, who has Alzheimer's Disease. When she wakes one morning to find the front door of the house open and her patient gone, Alison fails to raise the alarm, choosing instead to escape to the relative calm of a floatation tank - a decision that will have grave consequences.

You can watch the film on the BBC Film Network.
